Happy Pi Day!

Today, March 14th (3/14), we celebrated Pi Day, a fun mathematical holiday recognizing the famous number π (pi) - the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter (approximately 3.14). Some of our classes participated in Pi Day activities, including math challenges and creative projects.

Pi Day is not only a great way to explore math in a fun and interactive way, but it also happens to be Albert Einstein’s birthday! We love seeing our students get excited about learning math and hope everyone enjoyed celebrating this special day!

Spring Concert Date Change

Due to CBE restrictions related to the ongoing CUPE labour disruption, we are rescheduling our Spring Concert to May 14 & 15 instead of the originally planned April dates. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to sharing this special event with you in May!

In the meantime, we are excited to showcase our students' amazing puppetry work with Mr. K in Drama. Instead of the concert in April, we will be hosting daytime student showcases during the second half of the month. These will be a fantastic opportunity for students to share their creativity and storytelling skills. We will confirm the details after Spring Break, so stay tuned for more information!

Upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences – March 20 & 21

Our Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up on March 20 & 21, and we look forward to engaging in discussions about student progress and areas for growth as we approach the final months of the school year. Due to the CUPE Local 40 labour disruption, all conferences will be held online via Microsoft Teams.

The Conference Booking system opened this morning, March 14, at 10:00 AM, and can be accessed through your MyCBE account.  Please review the information on the MyCBE – School Conferences webpage for assistance and step-by-step instructions.

Interpretation services are available for families and teachers who feel they are necessary. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you require this support.

Lost & Found: Claim Your Items Before Spring Break!

Our Lost & Found is overflowing with jackets, water bottles, and other belongings looking for their owners! Since our Learning Conferences will be held virtually this time due to the CUPE labour disruption, parents won’t have the usual opportunity to check the Lost & Found in person. We encourage families to stop by the school before Spring Break to see if any missing items belong to your child. Just check in at the office before heading to the Lost & Found.

Next week, teachers will also take their classes by the Lost & Found to help students find their lost belongings. Any unclaimed items will be donated after Spring Break, so be sure to take a look before then!

Reminder: School Fees Due

A friendly reminder to families that school fees for the 2024-2025 school year are due when assigned. To view your assigned fees and make payments, please log in to your MyCBE account.

For more information on fees, payment options, and waivers, please visit the CBE's Fees and Waivers webpage.
