Learning Conference Bookings Open Nov. 21
We are excited to welcome families to our first round of Learning Conferences on Thursday, November 27, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Friday, November 28, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The booking system will open on Friday, November 21, at 10:00 AM. Time slots are 15 minutes per student; however, families of students supported by an Individualized Program Plan (IPP) are encouraged to arrange a 30-minute time slot by reaching out to their child’s teacher.
To schedule a conference, log in to your MyCBE account at MyCBE. If you don’t already have an account, you can create one by following the instructions on the MyCBE PowerSchool Support page. Once logged in, access the "My School Conferences" section, choose an available time slot that works for you, and confirm your details. Further instructions and details can be found here: MyCBE Support – Book a Conference.
If you feel that a language interpreter would help facilitate your conversation with your child’s teacher, please reach out directly to the teacher to arrange this service. Interpretation services are available at no cost to families.
Crochet Club is Back for Grades 4-6 - Yarn Donations Needed!
We’re excited to share that Mrs. Moore is once again leading our Crochet Club for students in Grades 4 to 6! Under her guidance, students will learn the basics of crochet, support one another in developing new skills, and work together on a project that gives back to the community.
This season, the club will be making hats and ear warmers for people in need, which will be donated to the Project Warmth Society of Alberta before Winter Break. Learn more about this wonderful organization here: www.projectwarmth.ca
To help our students bring this meaningful project to life, we’re asking for donations of yarn. Any colour or weight is welcome - if it can be crocheted, it can be used! If you’re able to donate, please send yarn to the school office. Huge thanks to Mrs. Moore for inspiring our students to get involved, be creative, and give back!
Volunteers Needed for Book Fair Support
The Scholastic Book Fair is returning to Capitol Hill School from November 24–28, 2025, and we’re looking for volunteers to help make it a smooth and successful event! The Book Fair is a great opportunity to promote a love of reading in our school - and it directly supports our library and literacy programs. Every book sold helps bring more books and valuable resources into our classrooms and into the hands of students. We need a few extra hands to help with setup, sales, and clean-up throughout the week. Whether you can spare a full shift or just a bit of time, your help is truly appreciated!
