Halloween Dance a Huge Blast!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Halloween Dance! We had an incredible turnout, with families showing off amazing costumes, grooving to the music, enjoying pizza, and lighting up the night with glowing bracelets. A huge thank you to our School Council and CHEES for organizing and funding such a fun-filled event, and to all the parent volunteers who made it possible. Your support and dedication are truly appreciated!

October 31st at CHS – Halloween Reminders

We are excited to celebrate Halloween at school on Tuesday, October 31st! Students are welcome to wear their costumes, but we kindly ask that they leave masks and any weapon accessories at home. Please also avoid costumes with violent or overly scary themes. We will kick off the day with a costume sharing assembly in the morning, and our afternoon Kindergarten students will have a chance to show off their costumes with a parade through the classrooms. We look forward to a fun and festive day!

Alien In-line – Re-scheduled Days for Kindergarten & Gr. 3

Due to the instructor’s illness during the third week of our Alien Inline Skating residency, Kindergarten and Grade 3 students missed two of their scheduled sessions. We’re pleased to share that make-up days will go ahead on October 28 and 29 with an updated schedule . Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to having our students back on skates! Don’t forget to send a helmet and socks!

Bus Zone and Parking Reminder

We’ve noticed an increase in vehicles parking in the bus zones during pick-up and drop-off times, which causes significant issues for our school buses. Please be reminded that the school bus can only park in the designated zones, and when these areas are occupied, it disrupts their ability to safely load and unload students. We have two actively-restricted bus zones: one on 21st Ave NW and the other on 18th St NW, which are used in the morning, mid-day, and afternoon. If you are unsure of the exact locations, please refer to the map on our website here.

In addition, our parking lots are designated for staff only, including the small lot next to the waste bins. For the safety of everyone, parents should not use these areas for student drop-off or pick-up, as it creates a significant safety hazard. Students should never walk through the parking lots.

Please review the traffic zone map mentioned above and familiarize yourself with the safe parking and traffic procedures. Your cooperation is essential and greatly appreciated, as it upholds our Three Pillars of Care, ensuring the safety of our students, our school environment, and yourselves.
