Oki Families,

I hope this message finds you all in good health and high spirits. It is with mixed emotions that I write to inform that I will be leaving Capitol Hill School at the end of this school year. I will be moving to be the principal at Christine Meikle School.

During my time here at CHS, it has been a privilege to witness the growth and achievements of our students, the dedication and hard work of our staff, and the unwavering support of our parents and community members. Each day has been filled with moments of inspiration and joy, and it has been an honor to serve such a remarkable school.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire school community. To the students, thank you for your enthusiasm, creativity, and for bringing joy to our school every day. You are the heart of this school, and your success is our greatest reward. To the teachers and staff, your commitment to excellence and passion for education have made a profound impact on our students' lives. To the parents and guardians, your trust and partnership have been invaluable in fostering a nurturing and supportive environment.

As I embark on this new journey, I carry with me countless cherished memories and the lessons learned from each of you. I am confident that Capitol Hill School will continue to thrive and reach new heights under new leadership. In the coming week, the principal position will be posted, and the hope is the new principal will be hired before the end of the school year and I will be able to email you with an introduction. The new principal will officially start in the 2024/2025 school year.

Thank you once again for the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful community. I wish you all continued success and happiness.

Warm regards

Hilary Wright

Principal, Capitol Hill School

Capitol Hill School

Dear Staff, Parents/Guardians and students:

This letter is to inform you of an upcoming staff change for Capitol Hill School. Ms. Wright will be joining the staff as new Principal at Christine Meikle School this coming fall.

The search for Ms. Wright’s replacement will commence immediately. I anticipate the new Principal will be announced before the end of the school year. Ms. Wright and I will be working closely with the incoming Principal to ensure a seamless transition.

As we will be welcoming a new Principal for your school, I will be seeking feedback from staff, students and families. As a member of the Capitol Hill School community, your voice is important and will support a new Principal with transition in terms of what you value about your school programming, the leadership attributes you value and some ideas to make your school better. Early next week, you will be receiving a link to a survey so I can receive your input.

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank Ms. Hilary Wright for her outstanding leadership of Capitol Hill School these past few years.

Sincerely,

Martine Sawatzky
